Megan completed an Honours degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy at the University of Guelph before graduating with a Criminal Law specialization from the Dalhousie Schulich School of Law in 2023. She has appeared before judges in the criminal courts of Nova Scotia and Ontario to address all types of criminal matters including guilty pleas, sentencings, bail hearings, and trials. She completed her articles at a criminal law firm in Hamilton, Ontario, before being called to the bar in 2024.

Megan has always been an advocate for civil liberties and for those marginalized by and to the criminal justice system. Throughout university she volunteered as a peer mentor for Family & Children's Services, completed a volunteer outreach program in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA, and successfully campaigned to end the sale of bottled water on the University of Guelph campus. During law school she was a member of the Social Activist Law Students' Association and the board of directors of the Avalon Sexual Assault Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her paper on inaccess to reproductive health care for incarcerated women was published in the Manitoba Law Journal in 2023.

Megan is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, and the Ontario Bar Association. She represents clients charged with all Criminal Code offences.
