What are Various Types of Human Trafficking?

The offence of Trafficking in Persons goes well beyond the traditional image of cross-border smuggling or exploiting undocumented workers for coerced labour. In fact, most charges of Trafficking in Persons are laid alongside offences for the commodification of sexual services in relation to activities commonly referred to as “pimping.” Housing or transporting a sex worker while engaging in exploitative behaviour towards them is often sufficient to engage Canada’s human trafficking laws.
